There are some big crappie being caught now in the blood River area. My catch numbers are down some after all the rain and muddy water but the size has been good. We’ve had several fish over two pounds in the last few days.
Big wind forecast for the next few days has me hiding in unproductive water but after Friday conditions look good and I expect fishing to greatly improve. Water levels are low but perfect for this time of year.
Slow vertical trolling over Flats 8 to 10 feet and some casting around brush piles in the same depth has been the best for us here in blood River the last few days. I’m using some really bright colors in the dirty water. Orange and chartreuse and black and chartreuse have been a good choice the last few days. I am also tipping with minnows or Crappie niblets most of the time.
You won’t know if you don’t go.
