The crappie spawn is in full swing now here around the blood River area. Black and white crappie are moving up by the minute into the shallow water. We have 60 to 61 degree water temps and the next seven or eight days are forecast to be in the low 70s for highs. There is no better time than now to be here on Kentucky Lake if you are a crappie fisherman.
I am mostly casting 1/8 ounce jig heads with curly tails or 1/16 ounce hand tied hair jigs in and around the bank over shallow cover. I think this week the Cork & jig method in the three to four foot range should really start to pay off.
